The idea
For each challenge, a member of the opposing team referees and holds the phone facing the players. Rotate spokespersons. Passages follow the Louis Segond 1910 translation.
In round one, bid on the number of words to recall. The highest bidder answers. Every word correct earns the bid’s points; an error gives those points to the other team.
In round two, success takes the wager from the opponent; an error transfers it to them. After six challenges, the highest score wins. The game can end early if a team runs out of points; a tie triggers a final all-in challenge.
Good questions
No: you recall words from Bible passages. Knowing the verses and their wording helps; recognizing a melody is not enough.
Elided forms count separately: “d’amour” counts as two words, as does “qu’il”. Punctuation does not count as a word. The referee checks the text after the answer.
