The idea

How does it work?

Every guess teaches you something. Find the exact name with as few points as possible.

01Guess

Start with the category

The mystery is a person, place or event. Type a few letters, then select an entry from the list. Alternative spellings and some familiar phrases can help you find a name.

02Compare

Connect the characteristics

Green marks a shared value. Crossed-out gray marks a value that does not match. A question mark or “Non comparé” gives no conclusion. Depending on the challenge, compare the Testament, period, related people or places.

03Deduce

Find the exact name

Each new guess adds one point. Three optional hints cost 2, 4 or 6 points, shown before you open them. Matching every characteristic is not enough: you must find the correct entry.

Your daily Bible puzzle

Bible knowledge.
A fresh clue.

Enjoy the idea behind 1jour1film: guessing, comparing and returning for tomorrow’s challenge? Dans la Bible brings daily deduction to Bible people, places and events, with its own criteria and scoring. It is an independent baræ game with no affiliation to 1jour1film.

For Bible enthusiasts

Knowing the main Bible stories gives you leads. Optional hints and the entry revealed at the end can introduce a less familiar person or episode. The corpus uses the 66-book Protestant canon and Louis Segond 1910 references.

A shared puzzle, your own journey

Everyone searches for the same daily mystery. You can start without an account. Google sign-in lets you access your progress and join the leaderboards; sharing a result does not reveal the answer.

Good questions

Before you
get started.

Deduction, hints, accounts and missed days: what to know before you begin.

Is this a multiple-choice Bible quiz?

It is a deduction game: search for a name in the catalogue, then use the comparisons to guide your next guess. The mystery can be a person, place or event, not only a Bible character.

Do I have to pay or create an account?

The game is free and you can start without an account. Without signing in, your game remains tied to that device. Google sign-in lets you access your progress across devices and join the leaderboards.

How does scoring work?

A new guess costs 1 point. Hints add 2, 4 or 6 points. The lowest winning score leads the daily ranking; speed is not a tiebreaker. Monthly rankings first compare mysteries solved, then use the lowest points total to break ties.

Can I catch up on a missed day?

The “Les défis du mois” menu opens past challenges from the current month since launch. Solving a missed or unfinished challenge can count toward the monthly ranking. Replaying after giving up is practice. Catch-up games do not change the daily ranking or your streak.

How is it different from Quel verset ?

Dans la Bible asks you to identify a name from compared characteristics. Quel verset ? shows a passage and asks for its exact book, chapter and verse in five guesses. They are two solo Bible challenges with different rules.
